Dr. Brian (as he goes by), originally hailing from the Chicago suburbs (Go Bears! Go Cubs!), spent his undergrad and Masters years at Boston University and stayed for a few years doing basic science research.  He later went on to Drexel University in Philadelphia for medical school followed by residency at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.  He then joined a local pediatric private practice, staying in Pittsburgh for 12 years before moving to sunny Charlottesville.  Among his many interests, he has particular interests in pediatric allergy management as well as behavioral management of early childhood.

Brian enjoys all things outdoors (hiking and kayaking in particular) as well as a good meal earned thereafter, either cooking it or sampling a local restaurant or winery.  He was also known as the “Star Wars doctor” in his previous practice for his love of all things nerdy.  He is an animal lover, with 2 amazing English labs and 1 cat, and is interested in wildlife conservation.  And most importantly, he loves spending time with his wife and 2 boys who make it all worthwhile.
